Chlorinated Solvent Vapor Extraction and Steam Sparging Remediation
EEC installed a hot air injection system, a 500 scfm soil vapor extraction (SVE) system, and a groundwater remediation system at an operating chemical facility in Southern California. The remediation systems were designed to remove methylene chloride from the soil and groundwater beneath the facility.
The system components installed by EEC included Regenerable resin adsorbing system; Steam boilers; Cooling towers; Condensate heat exchanger; Liquid ring high vacuum and low vacuum vapor extraction system blower skids; and Hot air injection system
EEC provided all construction services including trenching, piping, rigging, electrical, and resurfacing. EEC also obtained all of the necessary construction and system operational permits.
The entire project was completed in a high traffic area in an operating chemical plant. There were no interruptions of the operations and the strictest safety measures were followed throughout the project.
Project Highlights:
- Remediation of methylene chloride impacted soil and groundwater
- Installed hot air injection system
- Installed soil vapor extraction system
- Installed groundwater remediation system
- Performed all project related trenching, piping, electrical, and resurfacing construction
