Industrial Wastewater Design and Installation

EEC designed, permitted and installed a 75–gallon per minute wastewater discharge’s (County of Los Angeles) sewer lateral to a pumped flow system connected to a different agency’s (City of Los Angeles) sewer lateral. The modification was required due to insufficient capacity with the existing sanitation district’s sewer connection for the industrial discharge. The sanitation district was requesting the facility to limit their discharge and operation at the facility. EEC researched, prepared the submittal, and obtained an industrial discharge permit for a new sewer connection with the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation for the required discharge capacity. The design of the system required the installation of pumps, electrical, piping, trenches, sewer connection and appropriate alarms and controls that would support the current and future discharge growth projected by the facility. EEC trained the operators of the system and supplied technical support to ensure compliance.
