Various Phase II Investigations and Remediation; Confidential Oil Company; Wilmington, CA
Project Highlights:
- Soil, air, and groundwater sampling
- Monitoring well installation
- Developed soil characterization work plans for potential contaminant source areas across site
- Successfully remediated several contaminant sources across site
- Collected and managed large quantities of data obtained from investigation and remediation activities

EEC has performed a variety of investigative and remedial activities for this oil company. These activities have included site characterization investigations, air monitoring, and quarterly groundwater monitoring.
EEC performed an aggressive subsurface investigation and analytical testing program at the facility to characterize the vertical and horizontal extent of hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater. The project included using a variety of drilling methods to collect soil and groundwater samples. These methods included collecting real-time field analytical data with a cone penetrometer drill rig, hollow-stem auger drill rig, and hand-augering. The data from the project was used to define the site stratigraphy and hydrogeology.
EEC has also conducted air monitoring and sampling at the site. The samples were collected and analyzed for lead and PCBs.
EEC is currently managing a quarterly groundwater sampling program mandated by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board. The programs includes sampling several groundwater monitoring wells, analyzing the laboratory data, coordinating the disposal of the hazardous purged groundwater, and preparing quarterly reports. |
