Soil and Groundwater Investigation; Petroleum Hydrocarbons
Project Highlights:
- Leaking Gasoline and Diesel Underground Storage Tanks
- Soil and Groundwater Impacted with Petroleum Hydrocarbons
- EEC performed a soil and groundwater site investigation
- Site admitted into UST Cleanup Fund (Claim Number 018154)
- Recently received RWQCB approval of a workplan for groundwater monitoring well installation

Environmental Engineering and Contracting, Inc. (EEC) was retained to perform a limited soil and groundwater investigation at the Subject Property. EEC performed two field events consisting of both direct push and hollow stem auger borings. The soil and groundwater samples analyzed contained elevated concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons. The petroleum hydrocarbons present in the subsurface appears to be a result of releases from the six former underground storage tanks (USTs) located at the Subject Property. The six tanks were removed from the site in early 2004.
EEC installed six groundwater monitoring wells at the Subject Property to delineate dissolved phase hydrocarbons in the groundwater. Results of the sampling indicated a limited dissolved phase petroleum plume extending offiste. The project is currently being monitored and sampled on a quarterly basis. EEC has also completed and submitted all necessary documentation for admittance into the State of California UST reimbursement fund. |
