Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator Training Courses
On behalf of a large Sanitation District in California, EEC has created and conducted nine 4 to 7 week operator training programs for industrial wastewater dischargers in the County. The program is designed for operators from the metal finishing and circuit board manufacturing industries. The program includes topics such as pollution prevention, waste minimization, system design, equipment operation, troubleshooting and chemical treatment jar testing. The course format focuses on hands-on equipment and chemical treatment demonstrations and “real world” problem solving exercises. Due to the variability in these industries, the course is designed for operators with varying educational backgrounds and technical qualifications. Each student also receives a course manual that includes the course materials, easy to use chemical treatment charts, operator logs, and other resources that can be used each day in the plant. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion and a thorough understanding of proper treatment system operation. The District source control inspectors also attend the course to better understand the industries’ challenges.
